Lake Titicaca Puma of Stone: It is the highest navigable lake of the world to 3810 m.a.s.l. and the biggest lake in fresh water of Latin America. It covers more than 8710 km. Of those that 5.260 km corresponds to Peru and 3.450 km to Bolivia and it extends northwest toward southeast with 190 km. of long and in its wider point it has 80 km. With a narrow channel that separates the lake in two bodies, called smaller Lake or "Huinay Marks" and bigger Lake "Chucuito"
Well-known as Sacred Lake of the Inca, the Titicaca Lake is a wonderful attractiveness for the lovers of the nature, to enjoy an unforgettable view of the Real Mountain range of the Andes and the existent islands in the Lake, this way you are able to be connected with nature.
Titicaca, cradle of the Andean civilization, populated by indigenous Aymaras and Quechua that even maintain their own customs, their ancestors' inherited traditions.
This lake offers a compound varied fauna: mainly of ducks, fishes such as the suche, capache, pejerrey and trout, among others.
Its flora is represented by 12 varieties of aquatic plants standing out the totora, the yana llacho and the lentil of water. The lake has 36 islands; among the most important of those are Taquile and Amantani, in Peruvian territory, and the islands of the Sun and of the Moon in Bolivian waters. The temperature of its waters fluctuates among 10C to 12C

Program Itinerary.

DAY 1: Uros Islands and Amantani.
Between 7.40am and 8am Transfer from the hotel to the port and by motor boat we take you to one of the legendary Uros Islands where you can observe the lives of the Uros people who live on floating reed islands, some only 20 metres in length. After a beautiful 3hr boat ride we reach Amantani island where we will break into smaller groups to stay with the local families. You have the opportunity to trek to the top of the mountain (4150 mtrs) to see the Temples of the Pachamama and Pachatata and enjoy the traditional customs of the island people. Food and authentic music prepared and performed by your designated family.

DAY 2: Taquile Island - Puno.
After breakfast we take a short boat ride to the neighboring Taquile island, where we will tour around the ruins and visit these beautiful people, world famous for their intricate and fascinating weavings, After lunch we take the return trip to Puno. Arrival in the afternoon and transfer back to your hotel approx 5-6 pm. End of service.

Please avoid lollies /sweets.They really appreciate oranges and other fruit as it is impossible to grow on the islands in these altitudes.and it will save their teeth and their environment.
